Organization of Production of Large-Size Plastic Scintillators for Physical Experiments

Abstract: The method for technical styrene fine cleaning is developed; the production process of such cleaning is implemented, the expedience of use of raw material microfiltration to obtain high quality prepared product is shown. The fine cleaning process was implemented into the production technology of large-size plastic scintillators with more than 2.5 m transparency.
Key words: polystyrene, bulk polymerization, fluorescent additives, light absorption, purification.
