Abstract: 
The process of production of plates on the basis of metallic hafnium, which must respond to the requests of the possibility of their use in the construction of nuclear reactors' control rods, is described. For the production of initial ingots the electron-beam melting method was applied. For crushing of cast structure the ingots were subjected to forging, and the forged samples were rolled into the bars. They were polished, cut to a size and subjected to the heat treatment. Inspection of the properties of material and obtained products was carried out during all stages of semimanufactured material production. The properties of the plates obtained from hafnium satisfy the stated production requirements
