Implementation of the Technologies for Radiation Pasteurization and Preservation of Food Products

Abstract: Innovation project "Implementation of radiation pasteurization technologies and preservation of food products was commenced by National Academy of Sciences in Ukraine during 2004. The purpose was to implement in the Ukraine technologies of radiation pasteurization and preservation of food products to prevent the loss of the products while storage and the protection of consumers from infections diseases. The paper contains the physical technical and technological development results of the researches for the introduction of modern radiation technologies to food industry in Ukraine. The technical and technological decision of such realization is proposed. Economic indexes with use of radiation technologies and the perspective of the extension to industry due to the conversion, like an example – military facilities or industrial organizations from another domain are analyzed. International organizations (UN and WHO) recommend to apply the radiation as important and effective measures for prevention and spreading of infection diseases and epidemics. The indispensable condition of such technologies expansion is the creation of the special industrial facilities and normative documentation for food processing. Under assistance of the hardware innovation project the characteristic for the realization of the industrial technological lines with the use of radiation is given. The most effective methods of its usage are studied. A result of the new technological test and the perspective ways of its implementation into the production in the Ukraine is given.
